How To Have Glowing Skin

Who doesn’t want glowing skin, especially during the summertime? Every skincare brand out there has at least one product that promises to give you that perfect glistening glow, but is that really the best way to get the skin you’ve been dreaming of?  Start fresh! Dull skin usually is a direct result of dirty or not properly cleansed skin. Before you go scrubbing your face, take a moment to survey what you’re working with. If you have some dry patches, it’s best to avoid a harsh exfoliation and focus more on restoring moisture to your skin with gentle cleansers and light scrubbing treatments. If you have oily skin, resist the urge to strip away that greasy shine completely. Instead, go with a cleanser/toner/moisturizer combo that works together to balance your skin’s oil production instead of removing it altogether.  Assemble your dream support team Once your skin’s surface is prepped, introduce products with power player ingredients that will boost your skin’s natural radiance and maintain it. Glycolic acid not only brightens skin, but, it also exfoliates, a great option for anyone dealing with dry or sensitive skin! Vitamin C doesn’t just help boost your immune system; it’s an antioxidant that also helps bring a dose of radiance to your skin by blocking an enzyme-producing pigment. Hydration is incredibly important to get that youthful glow. In addition to making sure you’re drinking enough water (half your body weight in ounces!) and eating a healthy balanced diet, you should also be incorporating a hydrating skincare ingredient like hyaluronic acid. Lotions and creams are a great way to apply moisture to your skin in a way that will lock it in and keep you glowing all day.  Address the elephant (or blemishes) in the room Your skin won’t be at its most luminous if you have underlying issues that need help. Dry skin will always look dull, no matter what you try to mask it with. If over-the-counter treatments aren’t working on dry patches of skin, make an appointment with your dermatologist and work with them to restore your skin’s moisture levels safely.  Acne is another deterrent of glowing skin. Bumps and irritated skin mar your complexion and can react negatively to some of the brightening ingredients we mentioned above. If you’re dealing with acne breakouts and want to make this the year of clear and glowing skin, ask your dermatologist if they offer the Sebacia acne treatment. Our treatment uses gold particles that penetrate your pores and treat acne at its source: the sebaceous glands. Using a laser (like the one used for laser hair removal), the gold particles heat up and work their magic on your skin. After 2-3 treatments over a two-week period, you will start to see results within 2-3 months. Get ready to say goodbye to acne and hello to summer glow, all year long! Discover your skin’s radiant side this summer and use these tips to keep that glow going all year!
